With 8 months of travel, busking the boulevards and avenues of Europe, Damien Rice now stands poised to move upon the world his debut album “O”.
With the meagre proceeds of his busking days in Europe, Damien funded a demo which when heard by David Arnold (producer and film composer) inspired him to buy Damien a mobile studio.
Having previously spent “too much time in recording studios”, Damien chose the alternative route of recording in kitchens and bedrooms, so when that moment of inspiration hit he could capture it there and then.
Wishing to work only with people he admires, Damien travelled to Kerry to work with New York drummer Tomo, to Paris with pianist Jean Meunier, to London with David Arnold, and to Dublin with vocalist Lisa Hannigan and cellist Vyvienne Long.
The album is now in post-production with a release date scheduled for September and a single due in August.
