Dublin Studio Hub Announces the Launch of a Fully Online Irish-based Music & Song Production Service.

Dublin Studio Hub (DSH) announces the launch of its new & unique online song and music production service, via its site www.dublinstudiohub.com . The project is the brainchild of professional musician, sound engineer, and longtime industry producer Larry Hogan. It was born of the idea that many songwriters, bands, and artists could either not afford, or did not have access to, the big end of the music business.dubhub

“The idea of the HUB was born from things I had learned or experienced in the Irish music industry over many years. Firstly, there is so much great Irish musical talent out there, both vocal and instrumental, and I wanted a way to bring that all together into an accessible creative hub for artists and songwriters. Secondly that for every person who knows the music business, there’s an artist or musician that doesn’t – they don’t have connections, haven’t done studio work, or just don’t know how to take their material to the next level. From these two ideas the Hub was born.” (Larry Hogan – Founder Dublin Studio Hub)

Founder Larry Hogan began producing music for clients in 1994, and his team have produced hundreds of tracks for artists, some the biggest names in the business, and some only just starting out. Larry and the DSH production team have worked with artists including The Band , Peter Gabriel, XTC, Tears For Fears, Icehouse, Echo And The Bunnymen, The Corrs , Kila , Christy Moore , Ronan Keating and Brian Kennedy

The Dublin Studio Hub brings the team’s music production and arrangement talents to a wider global audience in a way that makes the music industry accessible. The site, and the online service embodies Larry’s production philosophy, which is to make great music, work in an open and honest way with clients and artists, and deliver great value.

“We’re trying to take some of the mystery out of the music business, by providing a digital hub where any global songwriter, band, or artist can bring their song or track to be produced. We then take their material and get to work with our session musicians, our vocalists, and one of our production team to give them a polished big-end-of-town studio sound. They can get access to some of the best in the Irish music business. It’s win-win for Irish music.”  adds Hogan.

Based in Dublin Ireland, Dublin Studio Hub is a collaboration of professional and passionate musicians who have come together under Larry to record and produce great music. In addition to working tirelessly on their own careers in the industry, these artists and players contribute on a work-for-hire basis for DSH projects for online hub clients.

James Vincent McMorrow unveils new track ‘When I Leave’

James Vincent JVMMMcMorrow has had quite the year. Since the release of ‘Post Tropical’ in January, James has completed a sold out Irish, European and Australian tour, played major European and US Festivals including Coachella and Latitude and made “Album of the Week” at Radio One and 6Music in UK. Not one to rest on his laurels, James has treated fans to a brand new unreleased track, ‘When I Leave’. Recorded on tour, James posted the track to Soundcloud today.

“I’ve been recording when I can over the summer, on the floors of festival dressing rooms, in hotels, I’ve been waiting for everyone to fall asleep so I can track vocals in the back lounge of the bus. Making Post Tropical definitely lit a fire. There’s no plan for any of it, I have an album in the world and it is rightfully taking up a lot of my energy, but I’ve plenty energy to go around, I’d like to start putting out some ideas while the ink is still wet, I want people to hear them, to know what they are when we play them live during the autumn Euro and US tours.

Disclaimer, They’re not polished, nothing recorded on the road ever could be, a lot of time spent removing crazy back ground sounds from vocals etc. That’s the point though I guess, snapshots.

When I was in college I’d go out a lot, but I wasn’t the guy that was the centre of everyone’s attention, I was usually standing awkwardly in the corner. But just because you’re standing in the corner doesn’t mean you don’t love to dance. That’s what this song is about I guess, dance like no one’s watching.”

James plays his last festival of the summer this weekend at Electric Picnic Stradbally Co. Laois.

Wyvern Lingo release ‘The Widow Knows EP’

For the past wyvern lingodecade, Karen Cowley, Saoirse Duane and Caoimhe Barry, all multi-instrumentalists and acclaimed vocalists, have made names for themselves as being the “go-to” session musicians/vocalists in the country. Racking up credits with acts like Hozier, Zaska, Samuel Vas-Y and Trinity Orchestra, it’s hard to believe that this trio of musicians has an average age of just 22 years-old.

Despite stints with some of Ireland’s top acts, critics and fans agree that when Karen, Saoirse and Caoimhe are together, they are a musical force to be reckoned with. Proving that there is no substitute for experience, the band’s perfect synchronicity and angelic harmonies are a product of a long standing musical relationship which they have honed since their school days in Bray, Co Wicklow. Since those formative years, Wyvern Lingo have graduated to a new level of maturity in their song-writing and take inspiration from everything from Fleetwood Mac to Fugees.

Known for their soulful, passionate and haunting live show, they are one of the few bands that can get you dancing with a full band of keys, guitar, synth bass and drums – or make you melt when they strip the set back to a capella. While it’s hard to pin down these musicians to a single genre, their brand new EP is a veritable cocktail of R’n’B hooks, bluegrass licks, gospel harmonies and inciteful-beyond-their-years lyrics.

After two solid years of writing, recording, performing (Groove Festival, KnockanStockan, Electric Picnic) and making plenty of mistakes along the way, Wyvern Lingo have released ‘The Widow Knows EP’ which will be followed by their first music video in September 2014.

The Widow Knows EP is available to purchase through iTunes and Bandcamp
