‘Marjorie’ is the brand new single release from Monaghan singer songwriter Jim McHugh.  This song is about the fictional ‘Marjorie’ that everyone has in their in their life, your own counsel or that part of your consciousness that is forever worrying. The song is about controlling the ‘Marjorie’ and telling yourself it will all be OK. The video was shot in Dublin on St Patrick’s Weekend 2019.

This single is from Jim’s forthcoming album ‘My Nuclear Radio’ due for release in 2019. It was recorded, produced and mastered in Ben Reel’s studio in Armagh and features Jim on Vocals/Acoustic/Electric Guitar, Paul McCabe on Bass.

Marjorie will be available on all digital formats for streaming/download.

Reckless Records proudly presents a brand new single from Montauk Hotel, ‘White Billboards’, streaming on all platforms from May 10.

White Billboards is a reflection on the power of advertising on in our society and how models and standards influence our choices, happiness and feeling of adequacy.

The song pictures an imaginary future where as an result of oversaturation, people have become indifferent to commercial models. Advertisers and brands have run out of slogans and have lost their impact on people and society.

There is a question left open, which whether a society with empty billboards would indeed set us free to be happy or whether it would leave us lost and unable to regain a personal identity.

Montauk Hotel take influence from the glimmer of early 80s indie-pop, Montauk Hotel fuse strong melodies, glistening guitars and punchy beats to create their own shimmering sound.

Montauk Hotel have made an impressive impact on the Dublin live music scene since 2016 with headline shows including Whelans, The Workman’s Club, The Sound House, The Bowery, Bello Bar and Roisin Dubh, as well as supporting international acts such as Goat Girl, PINS and Beauty Sleep. They have appeared at festivals such as Electric Picnic, Other Voices, Groove Festival, Sea Sessions, Vantastival and Sunflower Festival.

The band released their self-titled E.P. in March 2017 with a sold out show in Whelans. Their single ‘Sense of Place’ was released in August 2017 to critical acclaim. Their latest single ‘Stains’, released in 2018, playlisted on Spotify New Music Friday and received support from Nialler9, RTE, 2fm, The Thin Air, The Last Mixed Tape and BBC Radio.

Calvin Scully, aka ZHIKO, is a Dublin (Ireland) based self taught musician starting from the early age of 12 he had a natural ear for music. As a self taught pianist/keyboardist and Music Producer, Calvin started hitting the airwaves at the age of 15 with his release of ‘Torn Apart’ a dance track that was picked up and playlisted on Dublin’s 98FM and RTÉ 2FM. Calvin has also had song placements on many tv shows in Ireland, UK, Portugal and Australia.

Out of the spotlight, after many years of studying and perfecting his production skills, Calvin has written hundreds of tracks for artists on major and independent labels around the globe.

In 2018 Calvin combined talents with New York based French Producer Antoine Cara of Ultra Records and together created the duo ‘Dakotah’  they have released numerous pop dance tracks in 2019.

Now known as ZHIKO, Calvin has many upcoming tracks set for release in 2019 including his comeback release ‘Anything For You’ which is a collaboration with New York based super duo VAVO. The single was released on 26th April 2019, world premiering on Sirius XM on the 25th April.

VAVO, a Billboard charting Dance/Pop duo VAVO seamlessly blends the talents of Vancouver native Jesse Fischer and London born Alden Martin. They have over 50 charting positions on iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify, VAVO seeks to raise the bar. Their last single ‘Right Now’ has already reached the top 10 in the BPM Top 20 Countdown and has been supported by key tastemakers in the dance music community.

At their current pace, expect to see VAVO rise up as one of the hottest dance acts in 2019.

A.Smyth releases a new track ‘She Kicks’ on May 1^st, his second single of 2019.

Smyth explains “The song is about people, women in particular, pushing their way out of a comfort zone when the world might rather they didn’t. The world is evolving, but slowly – and so this song is something of an homage to those who have, and still do, kick the way forward for us all”.

After his first headline show in Whelans (sold-out) and a support slot with White Lies in Galway, Aiken Promotions recently announced a special-guest show with Maisie Peters as part of the new Eastbound Festival in May. Primavera Pro this week announced A.Smyth, along with four other Irish acts, as the line-up for the Music From Ireland showcase in Barcelona at the end of the month.

A.Smyth began this year with the release of the single ‘Fever’, which was also produced by Darragh Nolan (Asta Kalapa).

2018 saw the release of four singles and many festival appearances with highlights including Hard Working Class Heroes and Other Voices.

‘Second Moon’, the breakthrough single from last year, is currently climbing over 250k Spotfiy streams after being added to one of their bigger playlists toward the end of last year. Another one of the singles ‘Coming Back To You’ was placed on the reality TV show Made In Chelsea and ‘Fever’ also featured in the new series that aired in March of this year.
