Vice President, Global Administration
Sony/ATV Music Publishing
Sharon is Sony ATV’s Vice President, Global Administration & Society Relations and is an active member of its global senior executive strategy team based in London, reporting into New York.
Sharon began her career in music publishing at SBK Songs in 1987, ventured into recorded music as Royalty Manager at A&M Records, and then returned to her first love of music publishing, when CBS was re-establishing its presence in music publishing in 1990.
She has vast experience of the operational side of music copyright administration from both the side of a smaller publishing company (CBS Music Publishing began with just a handful of copyrights), to now being a key executive in the largest music publisher in the world.
Today Sharon leads, provides procedural and operational direction and globally manages Sony/ATV’s Music Publishing administrative operations and organisation. Experienced in supporting new business operations in developing territories she has led multiple local, international & global business change programmes within Sony/ATV. She has instigated and delivered a number of business restructures. Significantly, she was a lead in the successful operational merger of Sony/ATV & EMI’s admin operations – the industry’s largest merger to date
She is an active & experienced participant in many Society/back office committees, with a strong eye for detail, and a direct approach to challenging outdated practices.
She has a strong grasp of the global and local needs of the music publishing industry, and is keen to apply that valuable knowledge formally within the structure of a local Copyright Society Board. Her experience in the global industry and her years of work with global Copyright Societies, CISAC and other industry technical committees provide a very solid foundation.
Sharon is also an active member of the Institute of Directors.
