Acton Bell ‘You Don’t Know What Love Is’ debut album, out now

March 11, 2015

ABell FA.inddActon Bell is the new musical face of singer, songwriter and former drummer Dez Foley.

One time member of well-regarded indie-pop upstarts Crumb (with the late Derrick Dalton) and Irish Indie stalwarts, The Sewing Room; Foley has climbed out from behind the drum kit to have a bash at recording his debut solo album, “You Don’t Know What Love Is”.

Helped in no small part by a heavy hitting band of players comprising –
John Hegarty (Dinah Brand, Female Hercules, Let’s Get Lost), Fiachra McCarthy (Pantone 247, Run On’s, Crumb) and Joss Moorkens (Dudley Corporation, Large Mound, Joan of Arse); the album was recorded during Summer 2014 by ace engineer Steve Shannon at his Experimental Audio studio in Dublin.

Expanding on the Indie Rock template laid down by Crumb, You Don’t Know What Love Is takes the listener on a limber, melody-packed jaunt down the by-roads of Pop, Rock and Folk; with even an added dash of Country for good measure, and all in just 30 minutes.

The album is now available to buy on CD and download from Bandcamp.com
