Fastnet Film Festival

IMRO (Irish Music Rights Association) support ‘Film Music in Focus’ at Fastnet Film Festival in their 10th year.
This year at Fastnet Film Festival, which will run from the 23rd to the 27th of May, Film Music in Focus Curator Maurice Seezer has put together a very special programme for visitors to Schull to enjoy. The partnership with IMRO will help facilitate some very ambitious and collaborative performances this year, including:
– The Screening of Lady Wyndemere’s Fan with live accompaniment by Trio Apachés conducted by the score composer Carl Davis.
– Round table discussion with Score Composer Stephen Rennicks
– Various live Music in Film performances around Schull over the festival
– The addition of a €5,000 Music in Film prize sponsored by W. Michael Satke and judged by Bill Whelan
These unique events are made possible thanks to the support of IMRO.
Other participants include David Puttnam, Jim Sheridan, Lenny Abrahamson and Lance Daly. The line-up this year is unprecedented with over 60 expert guests taking part. Also, featured at the festival will be in excess of 400 screenings, Local Interest Films and World Cinema Programmes.
The Fastnet Film Festival is a major showcase for Irish and International short film production, focusing on the craft of film and has been held in high regard on a local, national and international level for several years now. The Festival this year will run a series of Seminars, Masterclasses and Workshops covering, Stunt Acting, Lighting, Screenwriting, Casting, Auditioning, Score Composition, Creating Content on Your Mobile, Shorts to Feature, Costume, Special Effects, Distribution and more.
Fringe events include the Long Island Cinema, Filmmakers Hub, Live music, Drama, Book readings, Movie Quiz, Café viewing all over town and high quality free family entertainment for all.
