IMRO Business of Music Seminar Series | ‘Getting Indie With It’ | Opportunities & Input For Songwriters & Performers with Brett Perkins and Alan Roy Scott.

Join internationally renowned songwriting pros Brett Perkins and Alan Roy Scott for an information packed workshop designed to provide input on a number of topics relevant to songwriting craft and careers.

The workshop will be broken down into several segments, including Songwriting Tips & Tools, Networking, Promotion & Song Pitching, Touring Strategies For Indie Artists and Onsite Song Consultations, for which participants can register in advance to present a song, recorded or live, for immediate feedback on arrangement, lyric, recording quality, potential placement opportunities, etc.

ALAN ROY SCOTT

Alan Roy ScottAlan is a leading Hollywood songwriter and music producer, who brings a 40-year career in the music business began with Screen Gems-EMI Music and a division of Motown, where he was involved with Smokey Robinson, The Temptations and Stevie Wonder.

Artists who’ve recorded his songs include Celine Dion, Luther Vandross, Cyndi Lauper, Gloria Estefan, Roberta Flack, The Allman Brothers, Sheena Easton, The Neville Brothers, Pat Benatar, Patti LaBelle, The Pointer Sisters and Johnny Mathis.

His TV/Film credits include First Wives Club, Top Gun, Coming To America, Karate Kid II, Fame (TV show), Rags To Riches, Santa Barbara, As The World Turns and Beverly Hills 90210.

Alan is also the founder of “Music Bridges” through which he’s high profile, humanitarian music event events around the world, including ‘Music Speaks Louder Than Words, the historic summit of US and Soviet songwriters which included artists Diane Warren, Brenda Russell, Cyndi Lauper and Michael Bolton, “Celtic Harmony”, Dublin which brought together US and Irish songwriters and “Music Bridges…Over Troubled Waters,” in Havana.

 

BRETT PERKINS

brett perkins 2An active consultant, guest teacher and performing songwriter, Los Angeles born/Copenhagen based Brett Perkins has traveled to 38 countries thus far, working with hundreds of artists as a consultant, workshop leader and guest speaker for groups including the Royal Conservatory of Music/Stockholm, Berklee School Of Music, NOPA/Oslo, KODA/Denmark and The Songwriting School of Los Angeles.

He also founded the Listening Room International Songwriter Retreats in 2002, held annually in several countries. Brett’s various workshops on Creativity, Self Expression and Songwriting are filled with inspiring anecdotes from his four decades of travel as a performing songwriter, presented with a blend of humor and songs.
