In the intimate setting performers are given the opportunity to debut new tracks along with their current material. Performance highlights and interviews with all acts who perform are later streamed online at www.IMRO.ie and across IMRO’s social media channels. To date, showcases have featured appearances from the likes of Marc O’Reilly, Gavin James, Craig Gallagher, Ailbhe Reddy, Mark Geary, Farah Elle and Bronagh Gallagher.

Orla Gartland is a singer/songwriter from Drumcondra, Dublin. Often described as ‘indie pop’, Gartland’s music has a sound that tips the cap to everything from Fleetwood Mac to Joni Mitchell, Darwin Deez to Regina Spektor. In November 2013 Orla released her debut EP “Roots”. The title track was chosen as iTunes ‘Single of the Week’ in the Ireland and the UK. The release went on to hit no1 in the Irish iTunes album chart and no15 in the UK iTunes album chart. January 2015 saw the release of Orla’s sophomore EP, ‘Lonely People’ – this was followed by a performance on RTÉ’s ‘Late Late Show’ and a sold out headline tour across Ireland, the UK and the US, alongside a slot at SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. Orla went on to open for acts such as Ryan Sheridan, John Newman, Gabrielle Aplin and Kodaline. Orla currently lives in London where she is currently recording new material with Ben Langmaid, a writer and producer known best for his work with La Roux. Having ducked out from releasing and touring to write, demo and ultimately find her sound, Orla’s wonderfully loyal following eagerly await her next release.

RUTH is a Dublin based artist, hailing from Co. Kerry, Ireland. Having brought a classic sound with a modern twist to the Irish music scene, she has very quickly come to prominence within the music industry. Spring 2016 saw her support English band ‘This Is The Kit’ in association with MCD Promotions on their sold out Irish tour. Her music has been praised and acknowledged by the renowned BBC Introducing, The Irish Times and RTÉ amongst many others. Winter 2016 saw her perform at the prestigious Other Voices festival in Dingle and Sofar Sounds in Dublin. Her new single ‘Off My Mind’ debuted on BBC Introducing before premiering on Nialler9. Musical influences originated at home, with Leonard Cohen serenading her during car journeys, and Elvis singing from the kitchen at night time. Having started her training as a classical musician at the age of eight, Ruth began composing her own songs on the piano when she was twelve, and has been honing her craft ever since. With conflicting interests in Hollywood film, classical and electronic music, she translates an eclectic mix of influences into one modern, cohesive sound. A natural performer, she boasts an energetic and enchanting set.

Abner Brown’s is not only the coolest barbershop in town, it’s also one of Dublin’s most unique venues. The unlikely Rathmines venue has already seen performances from hundreds of acts such as Ash, Gavin Glass, Duke Special, David Geraghty (of Bell X1 fame), The Young Folk, Molly Sterling, Mundy, The Hot Sprockets and many more. REM’s Michael Stipe has even paid a visit.
