Barry Stapleton | Milwaukee Irish Fest

Barry Stapleton has been involved in booking entertainment for Milwaukee Irish Fest for 28 years. Milwaukee Irish Fest hires 100 artists who perform over a 4 day weekend in August. Barry, along with an entertainment committee, oversees all the legal aspects, production, scheduling and logistics at the festival. Barry Stapleton is also the director of the Ward Irish Music Archives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Through the archives he has published three CDs, the latest being “Francis O’Neill Cylinders: 32 recordings of Irish Traditional Music in America circa 1904.” Barry has given programs at many conferences in the U.S. and in Ireland. He has organized conferences on Bing Crosby, Irish Music and Celtic Festivals. In 2007 Barry was the local program chair and host for the Association for Recorded Sound Collections, ARSC, national conference in Milwaukee. He has presented at the Library of Congress, Folk Alliance, Hofstra University, Na Piobairi Uilleann, Pipers Club, Dublin, the American Conference for Irish Studies and at the ACIS national and regional conferences.

Michael Roe | Faction Records

Michael Roe first came to prominence in 2008 when he formed The Richter Collective with Barry Lennon (And So I Watch You From Afar, The Redneck Manifesto, Enemies, BATS and Roe’s own Adebisi Shank).  The Richter Collective also promoted some spectacular gigs and curated stages at Forbidden Fruit and Indiependence. Michael then joined Sargent House (Chelsea Wolfe, Deafheaven, Russian Circles) and ran their European office for a number of years. More recently he has joined forces with Ken Allen at Faction Records (James Vincent McMorrow, All Tvvins, Jape, Pleasure Beach, True Tides).

Lisa Schwartz | Artistic Director Philadelphia Folk Festival

Lisa is a vibrant and dynamic individual with a passion for great music who serves as the Festival Director and Artistic Director for the world renowned Philadelphia Folk Festival. The annual event features approximately 100 acts on eight stages and and welcomes upwards of 35,000 patrons. Known to showcase superstars and rising stars alike, the Philadelphia Folk Festival is the seminal music event of the summer. With a love for nonprofit service and leadership, Lisa also serves as the Vice President for the Board of Folk Alliance International and was the president of the Philadelphia Folksong Society for more than eight years. She also loves to use her strategic marketing and branding skills to consult with artists to position them for career growth. Not content to always be behind the scenes, Lisa has also been a member of the Savoy Opera Company performing on stage at the famed Academy of Music in Philadelphia.

Kari Estrin

Kari Estrin has mastered a wide range of skills in the music business, integrating her knowledge into everything she has undertaken. Initially focused on concert, event production and periodical publishing, Kari expanded her realm to include publicity, promotion, advertising, sponsorship, A&R, Artist Development, management, touring, booking, writing and graphic design. Working as one of the few female tour managers with acts as diverse as Suzanne Vega and gothic rock’s Peter Murphy, Kari unknowingly blazed a trail for women in the music business. She was one of the few large-scale woman promoters in the USA, booking acts such as Steve Goodman, David Bromberg, Nanci Griffith and Doc & Merle Watson. Her vast experiences over the past forty-plus years in the music industry, along with her keen insights, nuts and bolts strategies and holistic approach, result in visionary, integrative marketing plans for her clients.

Cecile Glunt

Cecile has been with CWA Management LLC as the Director of Government Relations since 2013. CWA Management, negotiates with the IRS on behalf of nonresident alien athletes and entertainers. They develop and execute Central Withholding Agreements (CWA) that limit over-withholding of income earned from U.S. performances and appearances, as well as endorsements, sponsorships and other sources. CWA Management were one of the first companies to solely specialise in developing and executing Central Withholding Agreements that limit over-withholding on revenue earned in the US by foreign entertainers and athletes. Prior to being employed with CWA Management, Cecile was with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) for 26 Years. During her time with the IRS, she worked as an auditor; a senior analyst; a group manager and the program manager with the IRS Central Withholding Agreement Division. Cecile is the only person working within the CWA Program who has both governmental and private industry knowledge of the workings of obtaining a CWA from the IRS. Cecile has been a speaker at APAP, CINARS, POLSTAR, IAAM, Western Art Alliance and the Midwest Arts Alliance
