April 6, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Rachel Masterson and Rohan Healy present a three hour seminar with a practical focus on how to generate revenue from music and effective strategies for social media marketing.

How to make it in the music business is a three hour practical workshop delivered by Rachel Masterson and Rohan Healy. With almost three decades combined experience in the music and media industries, Rachel and Rohan have devised this workshop based on their own knowledge, learnings and successes. The idea for the workshop came from the observation that many new musicians still struggle to have their music heard, and many established artist still struggle to earn a living through their music. It aims to give advice on the many ways in which to make money in music and how building relationships through technology and face-to-face marketing will help grow their profile, career and earnings.

From a young age he was touring with the likes of Cat Power & Billy Bragg alongside his father David Virgin, of SPK and Sekret Sekret fame. He performs with and manages successful duo ‘Dublin City Rounders’ and is the CEO of Beardfire Music Label & Recording Studio. Rohan has hundreds of recording and production credits to his name, is a music scout for international publishing & Sync Licensing Library Gnarles and presents Rhythm & Roots and The Irish Music Business Show on Dublin City FM.
