The Song Collector Sessions in association with The Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO Ireland) will return to Cheers Bar, Fermoy in January 2018.

For one night only, Roy Buckley brings his renowned production back to one of North Cork’s most popular music venues with some of Ireland’s greatest and best loved performers coming to town for an unmissable night of great music…

On Wednesday January 10th, The Song Collector Sessions concert will feature the unmistakeable sound of Irish rock legends Christy Dignam & Joe Jewell of Aslan, 2 time Guinness World Record breaking/holding guitarist Dave Browne of The Black Donnellys, and Cork singer/songwriter and founder of The Song Collector Sessions, Roy Buckley.

Special guest MC on the night will be the voice of The Opinion Line, Cork radio luminary PJ Coogan of Cork’s 96FM.

Following on from the huge success of last August’s debut Song Collector Session at Cheers which featured Liam Reilly of Bagatelle, Mikey Joe Harte & Roy Buckley…. The Song Collector Sessions will return to Fermoy by popular demand – and if the first night is anything to go by, then you won’t want to miss this upcoming event!

Established in 2012, Roy Buckley has taken his Song Collector Sessions production all over Ireland with sell out shows in Cork, Waterford, Wicklow, Laois & Kerry featuring the greatest Irish songwriters and performers including Phil Coulter, Liam Reilly (Bagatelle), John Spillane, Christy Dignam (Aslan) and Mike Hanrahan (Stockton’s Wing) to name but a few.

In October 2014, The Song Collector Sessions played 2 shows in Las Vegas as part of a Guinness World Record attempt to set a new world record for longest concert headed by The Black Donnellys. It was Dave Browne’s idea and the new record now stands at 372 hours and 10 minutes and lasted from October 1st to October 17th

The Song Collector Sessions roll into Fermoy on Wednesday January 10th for one night only at Cheers Bar. Cork radio personality PJ Coogan will act as special guest MC at the concert featuring the legendary Christy Dignam & Joe Jewell of Aslan whose hit songs “Crazy World” and “This Is” have become very much a part of the sound of Ireland. The well-known and respected Dublin band are recognised as one of Ireland’s greatest bands from any era and other Aslan classics include “This Time”, “Chains” and “Hurt Sometimes”.

The other guest artist on the bill will be Dave Browne of The Black Donnellys. Originally from Dublin, Dave Browne now lives in Las Vegas, Nevada where he works as a resident musician and recording artist.

Not only does Dave Browne hold a Guinness World Record for the longest concert (2014) but he also smashed another record prior to that in June 2011 when he set a new Guinness World Record for the longest marathon playing guitar by an individual. The record was set at 114 hours, 6 minutes and 30 seconds and lasted from June 12th to June 17th.

To this day both records still remain unbeaten making Dave Browne a 2 time Guinness World record breaker and holder!

Recently, Dave Browne and fellow Back Donnellys member Dave Rooney, agreed to license their song “Notorious” to the Ultimate Fighting Championship for UFC 202 to soundtrack promotional videos in the lead up to the Conor McGregor Vs Nate Diaz battle.

Throughout his long career, Dave Browne has worked with some of the biggest stars in Irish music including Ronnie Drew, Terry Woods, Aslan and The Dubliners among many more.

Don’t miss your chance to see these great artists live when The Song Collector Sessions return to Cheers Bar, Fermoy on Wednesday January 10th for one night only!
