mtMartyn is from Dunmore East, Co. Waterford.

He describes his music as a mix of folk rock with traditional celtic influences. Most of his songs encompass a true to life lyric about lost love, growing up in Ireland, working as a fisherman, travelling, the environment etc.

“ His alternative folk music maintains a wonderfully distinct musical presence, one that is a treat to listen to.”
(Heath Andrews, Music Critic 106VIC Radio, New York.)

Martyn is a well travelled musician, having spent considerable time, learning his trade across Ireland, Europe, the USA and the UK, playing an eclectic mix of venues, ranging from theatres and bars to festivals.

“With ‘Survivin’, Martyn Travis has created an Irish Folk record that stands out from the crowd.”
(Americana UK, the home of Americana, alt-country and alt-folk.)

Many of Martyn’s songs have been recorded by other artists and he truly believes:

“As a songwriter, the highest honour has to be when someone takes time to learn one of your songs and particularly when they go and record it and put in on an album.”

Karrie O’Sullivan

karrieBallyhar, County Kerry is the birthplace of singer/songwriter Karrie O’Sullivan. In a former life, Karrie was a successful Horse-Breaker and still remains a woman of the land and lives and works on her farm. I wanted to be an international show jumper says Karrie. I had the kind of talent that works on a practical level, as in – I was a great groom and novice horse trainer but I didn’t fully appreciate that this wasn’t a common ability. It wasn’t the ability I wanted . It broke my heart that I couldn’t go up the levels in competition . Some people think it’s a posh spoiled kid’s dream. In reality I spent 15/ 20 years in a regimented army like discipline getting injured shoveling dung and earning a pittance.

Karrie’s other lifelong passion has been, of course, music. Like any real artist, she only writes music that comes from her soul, and is, in fact, a self-proclaimed; reluctant performer.

Karrie has appeared several times with Mary Coughlan, who wants to record two of her songs on her next album.

The English star Rumer, has been in contact with Karrie and is potentially recording one of her songs for a 2017 album release.

Karrie has also sang with Declan O’Rourke on several occasions, once, notably with the RTE Concert Orchestra at the National Concert Hall.

These, and many more endorsements from very credible Music Industry sources, have validated Karrie’s – and others – belief in the importance of her songwriting talent.

Karrie’s songs from both of her albums, have been play-listed on BBC NI, RTE 1 and 2, and several regional stations.

Karrie has guested on the RTE Radio 1 music showcase programme: In Session. Karrie and Jimmy Smyth debuted their musical partnership with a half-hour chat/play session with Gerry Kelly on BBC NI in Belfast

Currently, as mentioned, Karrie is being aided and abetted by the well known Grammy-Nominated guitarist Jimmy Smyth with whom she is collaborating on her live shows, recording and songwriting.
