youbloomDublin 2017 Music Summit & Festival

youbloom, the Global Music Village, is returning to Dublin for its fifth year. The Summit takes place on Saturday June 3rd the festival runs from 1st to 5th June 2017.

IMRO will host the Music Summit at their offices on Saturday June 3rd. youbloom is well known for its industry connections. Previous years have seen music experts like Martin Elbourne from Glastonbury and Alan McGee from Oasis share their knowledge and experience. This year sees Scott Cohen co-founder of The Orchard giving the keynote speech.  The Orchard is the largest digital distributor in the world. Scott and his team work with labels and release their records on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, etc. They also provide the labels with analytics across social and traditional media. Scott started The Orchard in the 90’s in New York pushing web campaigns for artists. Today, The Orchard has over twenty-five offices worldwide. Scott’s music career started in the late 80’s in independent and major label artist management.  Scott also manages the Raveonettes, the Dum Dum Girls, Kristin Kontrol, Dan Owen and Fallulah. He will give the youbloom audience unrivalled insight into the music distribution model, how to get into it and how to maximise it.

Other Speakers for 2017 include Aidan Butler and Alan Swan from RTE, New York industry guru Robert Singerman, Eleanor McEvoy, local radio heroes Martin Bridgeman and Ann Marie Walsh (8Radio & KCLR), Ed Smith (Today FM),  legal eagle Eileen O’Gorman and award winning film composer Lance Hogan. The full line up for the main stage at Bloom in the Phoenix Park ensures that the best of homegrown, organic talent will keep the crowds at Ireland’s best lifestyle festival entertained all weekend. Don Baker and his band, Wexford folk rockers Corner Boy, alt country rock star Jamie Stanton and indie boys Youth Mass are just some of the acts showcasing their talents this year. Family favourites including the Garda Band, The Leah Moran Stage School and Culwick Choir Society will bring flavours off all genres to the park.

Winners of the competition for the main stage slot are Lowlight Gathering. The Monaghan band have a significant fan base and have already supported the best of Irish artists including The Riptide Movement, Ryan Sheridan and The Hothouse Flowers. Catch the boys on the main stage on Friday 2nd June.

Over 3,000 bands applied to play at youbloomDublin 17 from all corners of the globe. Some of the home grown handpicked acts showcasing their talent include Youth Mass, Scoops, Hvmmingbyrd, The Klares, BARQ, and Jamie Stanton. Over eighty bands will play live shows in the Dame District www.damedistrict.com, The Globe  and Whelan’s from June 2nd to 4th, all gigs are free entry. Due to demand we have extended our venues to include the iconic main stage at Whelan’s where five bands will play on Saturday June 3rd.
