With more attention being poured into the Irish games industry than ever before the media are asking:
Are we on the brink of a renaissance for the Irish games industry?
Will Ireland become the biggest social and mobile games hub in the world?
The answers delivered in a recent Forfas report say Yes and why not?

Indeed the predictions are for Ireland to be the game developing capital of Europe by 2015.

With growth in all areas of this booming industry, there is opportunity and cause to explore the music potential here at home.

A new generation of Irish game composers is the vision of GMI.

IMRO and GMI will host an evening at Copyright House on Tuesday Dec 20th to discuss the development of a game composers community.

The group is to be a support and skill development network for film and TV composers wishing to bridge into the games industry.

The talk will include outline plans for up skilling and retraining modules and other issues that might arise while trying to break into this field. With discussion open to the floor, we welcome ideas, needs and concerns of composers in this ever growing industry. GMI intends to create structure to the needs of composers and will seek to identify and develop as much opportunity as possible for those wishing to enter the games world.

We look forward to seeing you there.
