Biography

Pamela Phillips Oland
Coming off one of the best years of her long career, Lyricist Pamela Phillips Oland continues to reinvent herself, and her creative juices keep flowing into multiple projects and genres. Defying categorisation, the 3 time Grammy-nominated Oland writes pop, R&B, rock, country, jazz and theater songs with the same ease of inspiration. Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Selena, Frank Sinatra, Peabo Bryson, Reba McIntyre, The Jacksons and Gladys Knight represent just a few of her 500 or so recorded songs.

Her hit musical “Soldier of Orange” is currently the most successful musical in Dutch history, in its 16th month of a run in Amsterdam, half a million tickets sold.

She will have the launching single “Liquid Ice,” among 3 cuts of her cuts on Britain’s Got Talent phenomenon Charlie Green (a new Japanese release.) She is working on 2 other musicals, finishing a novel, and has numerous current cuts to her credit, including several on the forthcoming album of Argentinean star Karen Souza, a single “Synchronize,” with internet diva Alana Lee; a popular Danish single “Don’t Stop” with Jorgen Thorup, and has had recent cuts with alternative artists White Apple Tree and Simon Lynge, and Philippine artists Lara Cuevos, Philippine Idol winner Sarah Geronimo (in duet with Back Street Boys’ Howie Dorough that went to #1) a recent Record of the Year with Claire dela Fuente, and the cast album of Soldier of Orange hit Nol. 7 on the Dutch pop charts (co-written with Tom Harriman).

Her film and TV projects have included opening and closing themes for Disney’s “102 Dalmatians,” Genie Award-nominated “Center of My Heart” (as Best Song in a Motion Picture) from “Blizzard,” the end title to “Gideon,” songs in “JAG,” “The Sopranos,” “Xena:Warrior Princess,” “Crayola Kids Adventures,” and dozens of others.
Oland’s the author of two popular music industry books, “The Art of Writing Great Lyrics,” and “The Art of Writing Love Songs.”

Her forthcoming releases include an innovative “song cycle” project with Peruvian rock star Santino dela Tore, several all-new Christmas songs with Richard Carpenter, and other projects in process but still under wraps! This is her first trip to Ireland.
