Irish Promoters Announce New Event Promotions Company Singular Artists

September 2, 2020

Promoters Fin O’Leary, Brian Hand and Simon Merriman are delighted to today announce a new venture, Singular Artists: an exciting and credible independent event promotions company for Ireland and Northern Ireland.

Singular Artists brings together three experienced promoters who whilst at Aiken Promotions had helped the company grow its reputation and roster in the Irish live music business. Singular Artists allows O’Leary, Hand and Merriman to build a new future and to pick up where they left off pre-Covid-19 and will also offer new employment opportunities within the Irish music industry as the live events industry gradually comes back online.

The team plans to develop Singular Artists into a strong independent promoting brand in Ireland: all three bring with them a diverse roster of touring artists and cultural events including a growing portfolio of non-music events such as podcasts, YouTubers, comedy and spoken word.

Some artists previously promoted by the trio include My Chemical Romance, Sufjan Stevens, Fontaines DC, The Gloaming, Dermot Kennedy, Picture This, Alanis Morissette, The Murder Capital, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Billy Connolly, Yungblud, Tones & I, Sylvan Esso, The Snuts, The Dubliners, Big Thief, Clannad, Julia Jacklin, The Midnight, Mahalia, Perfume Genius, SOAK, Tamino, Larkin Poe, A-ha, Smoothboi Ezra, Jacksepticeye, Kai Tempest, Loyle Carner, Mark Rebillet, Orville Peck, Girl Band, The Last Podcast On The Left, Pillow Queens, Tiny Meat Gang, $uicideboy$, Jose Gonzalez and Steel Panther.

Singular Artists will seek to continue working with existing clients whilst developing new relationships, offering a strong, progressive and independent option in Ireland. The company will have the backing of UK promoter Kilimanjaro Live Ltd who will provide infrastructure, accounting and other relevant synergies.

Speaking of the new venture, director and promoter Fin O’Leary comments: “Singular Artists is incredibly exciting for all of us – Brian, Simon and I have worked side-by-side for a number of years so it was natural that we would join forces to create something new, given the circumstances. We always strived for an artist-friendly approach to music promotion, and we’re very excited for the artists we’re working with, and for the new relationships, we will be forging. We are looking forward to building on this with Stuart, Steve and the Kilimanjaro team as Singular Artists.”

Simon Merriman, director and promoter adds: “I am delighted to be part of Singular Artists, our progressive new Irish music and entertainment promotions company. Fin O’Leary, Brian Hand and I have years of experience and expertise working together as a dynamic team. The added strength of our international partners Kilimanjaro Live and DEAG adds a whole new level of excitement to the venture. Here’s to a bright and vibrant future!

Brian Hand, director and promoter adds: “This is a great opportunity to be involved in creating Singular Artists with such highly regarded companies as Kilimanjaro and DEAG. As a team, we are keen to build Singular Artists with an ethos that Fin, Simon & myself all believe in – that of putting the artist first.

Stuart Galbraith, CEO of Kilimanjaro says: “Covid-19 has had a devastating effect on our business across the world and yet at times like this sometimes you have to put faith in the future, invest in both people and opportunity when it comes knocking. When Steve Tilley and I suggested to DEAG that we back Fin, Brian and Simon it was greeted with enthusiasm and with a long-term vision. I’m delighted we’ve been able to agree on a business plan with the guys and really looking forward to helping them continue to develop their careers once we emerge out of the Coronavirus crisis.”
