IMRO is delighted to be involved in RTÉ’s Big Music Week which takes place in towns and cities around Ireland this week. Last week, IMRO hosted two songwriting workshops for school students with singer-songwriter, Luan Parle, and songwriter/producer, Gavin Ralston.
As part of their workshop, the Transition Year students of Presentation Secondary School, Clonmel composed a moving tribute to their late teacher, Alice Strain, who died tragically last year. Their song, entitled “My Hero”, was performed live on the RTÉ Big Music Week train this week to an audience which included members of Ms Strain’s family.

The 6th class students of St Joseph’s Primary School, Longford took part in our second workshop last week. Their song, “Love on the Tracks”, will be performed on the RTÉ Big Music Week train this Friday, as it travels from Longford to Maynooth.
RTÉ’s Big Music Week celebrates the best of home-grown musical talent and IMRO is honoured to have worked with such talented young songwriters and musicians, some of whom just might be our music stars of the future!
