Still Time to Vote for the Meteor Irish Song of the Year 2013

choicemusicprizeThe Meteor Choice Music Prize Album of the Year and Song of the Year for 2013 will be announced next Thursday, 27th February at a live event in Vicar Street.

If you haven’t already cast your vote for Irish Song of the Year, you still have a few days left to do so.

The Irish Song of the Year shortlist is decided by the Meteor Choice Music Prize judging panel and the Irish airplay charts for 2013. The 2013 shortlist is:

I am The Cosmos – Look Me In The Eye (Self Released)
James Vincent McMorrow – Cavalier (Faction Recordings)
Kodaline – Brand New Day (Sony Music)
New Jackson – Sat Around Here Waiting (Hivern Discs)
The Original Rudeboys – Never Gonna Walk Away (Rubyworks)
The Strypes – You Can’t Judge a Book by the Cover (Universal)
Two Door Cinema Club – Changing of The Seasons (Parlophone/Warner Music)
Villagers – Nothing Arrived (Domino)

Now in its third year, the Meteor Choice Music Prize – Irish Song of the Year Award recognises the nation’s favourite songs from the previous year. Bringing the shortlisted songs to a public vote encourages people to discover new Irish artists and take an active role in supporting Irish music.

Meteor is encouraging people to get involved by casting their vote through the Meteor Facebook page www.facebook.com/meteor or by texting ‘SONG’ to 085 711 4444 for a list of nominees.

A panel consisting of 13 media and industry professionals, representing Irish print, radio, TV, online and other assembled music professionals will decide the winning album on the night.
