Tanjier have just released their new single, ‘Miles’.
Having debuted the track to the crowds at this year’s Forbidden Fruit Festival, Tanjier’s traditionally ambient and moody sound has been refined and enhanced. Taking inspiration from the likes of Coldplay and LCD Soundsystem, the track is bursting with energy, colour, and indelible hooks.
Lyrically the song comes from a place of sadness and longing but it’s juxtaposed with an upbeat chorus and lead synth hook.
“The song is about the difficulties of long distance relationships. My partner moved to Abu Dhabi in September for work which brought some challenges for us. It deals with feelings of desperation and anger at the situation, but ultimately it’s a positive song depicting a healthy relationship,” says lead vocalist, Tommy.
The song was recorded and self-produced in the trio’s home studio with mixing and mastering duties given to Dublin’s Diffusion Lab. Having performed at Forbidden Fruit in June, closed the Other Voices Festival and excited crowds at Electric Picnic last year, Tanjier plan to take the single nationwide with headline shows and festival slots on their agenda. Upcoming show include; Castlepalooza, Electric Picnic, and a Secret Headline Dublin Gig.
