In October 2013 the students at Ashbourne Youthreach came together to write and record a song which is being released in December 2013. All proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit the registered charity Aoibheann’s Pink Tie.
‘On My Shoulder’ was written by the students along with songwriters Paul Mc Donnell and Dave Molloy. The song is sung by students Sarah Browne and Lucy Highfield and was produced by music students under the guidance of their music tutor Dave Molloy.
Aoibheann’s Pink Tie is a charity that helps and offers practical support to the families of children diagnosed with cancer and who are attending St John’s Oncology Ward in Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital. Focused on children attending the only treatment center for childhood cancer in Ireland, they support the complete family unit, of parents and siblings, who may not understand what is happening to their brother or sister.
The song is available on iTunes, Google Play and all digital stores. All proceeds from the sale of the song go directly to the charity.
