Choice Music Prize – Irish Album of The Year 2010 2 Weeks To Go!

The Choice Music Prize live event is only 2 weeks away and tickets are now completely sold out!
 
The event will take place in Vicar St on Thursday 3rd March. It will be hosted by Alison Curtis and will be broadcast live on Paul Mcloone’s show on Today FM from 7-11pm.
 
Cathy Davey has just been added to the live bill, which means that 8 out of the 10 shortlisted acts will now perform.
 
The confirmed line-up is as follows (artists listed in alphabetical order):

In recognition of the role of the Choice Music Prize as an important showcase for Irish music, Culture Ireland is pleased to be supporting a delegation of key international music industry press, promoters and publishers to attend the event in Dublin:

The winner of the Choice Music Prize Irish Album of the Year 2010 will be selected on the night by the judging panel at the Choice Music Prize Live Event at Vicar Street, Dublin on Thursday March 3.
 
The winning act will receive €10,000, a prize fund which has been provided by the Irish Music Rights Organisation (IMRO) and the Irish Recorded Music Association (IRMA).

All of the shortlisted acts will receive a specially-commissioned award, courtesy of the
Recorded Artists Actors & Performers Ltd (RAAP).

All of the shortlisted albums are available through retail partners HMV in their stores nationwide with the exception of The Cast Of Cheers album which is only available via download.
 
Video packages of all the acts on the night will be produced by Irish production company Old Hat.

About The Choice Music Prize:
The Choice Music Prize was established to highlight, promote and showcase the work of Irish artists. It is unique in that it focuses simply and solely on the music in judging the releases, as opposed to sales or airplay.
