Danny Ellis Announces Irish Tour

April 26, 2011
Renowned singer and songwriter, Danny Ellis, has announced a series of upcoming Irish performances. The tour will be followed by the release of Danny’s new album, “The Space Between the Lines”, the follow up to his acclaimed “800 Voices” which depicted his childhood days in Artane Industrial School.

Danny’s songs elegantly straddle the borders of music from his Irish roots and the pop and rock that buoyed him as he grew up. With a voice that goes from “almost unbearably poignant,” to “so full of rage,” he worked for years as a session singer in London’s Abbey Road and toured as a trombonist with Graham Parker and the Rumor, The Foundations, and The Miami Showband.

"As light dances on water, for me, language dances on music.
To witness that dance is a privilege I can't take lightly.
Ever since completing the material for my last album "800 Voices,"
it's felt like a door opened inside me and I had access to thoughts
and feelings I could never really articulate till then. Somehow the
world seemed more vivid and real. Songs I'd been unable to finish,
were now writing themselves breathlessly as I watched in delight.
In the silence between thoughts, our hearts call us to recognize the
heartbreaking beauty of our existence. My life, and hopefully this CD,
celebrates that call. "
