November 9, 2010

The inaugural Ribbon Rhythm Festival will provide a weekend of great music in aid of a good cause in the Mount Errigal Hotel in Letterkenny on Friday, February 26, and Saturday 27, 2011.

This brand new two-day musical spectacular has already attracted a stellar line-up of acts and it is planned to run it on an annual basis. The 2011 festival will raise much-needed funds for the Donegal Autism Parent's Support Group and to increase awareness of its work in the county.

The festival will provide an eclectic musical menu over two days, with something to suit every taste and preference.

Saturday's line-up includes Aslan, Henry McCullough, Grianne Duffy, Lee Headley, Mirenda Rosenberg Band, The Gandhis, Pontiax, Seven Days, and Mark Black. On Sunday, The Miami Showband, Mary Coughlan, Johnny Duhan, The Henry Girls, Fil Campbell, Lou McMahon and The Mudskippers will take to the stage. More acts are being added to the line-up all the time.

There will also be free live music taking place in the Front Bar of the Mount Errigal on both Saturday and Sunday.

This family-friendly event will also provide plenty of complimentary entertainment with a range of indoor children's activities, including a children's disco, art workshops. The organisers plan to offer a number of other festival activities and to have various vendors operating on site.

The Ribbon Rhythm Festival has been created to support a different Donegal charity each year and raise awareness of their work within the county. It also aims to provide a boost to the local economy in the process by providing jobs and attracting people to the region.

This exciting and dynamic event promises to be a great way to support a great local charity while providing some fantastic entertainment for music fans in Co Donegal.
