Jen Ella Returns With Latest Single ‘Lipstick Queen’

Cork-born, Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Jen Ella is delighted to announce the release of her latest single from ‘Lipstick Queen’.

The origins of the track, produced by Andrew Shepard in Venice of The North recording studio in Glasgow, lie in the experience of growing up in a world where people strive to be  perfect and to fit in, but don’t know how to value who they truly are. ‘Lipstick Queen’ brings the listener through the protagonists thought-process throughout the relationship between the perfection we strive for and the beautifully imperfect reality in which we live.

I express honesty in all my music and I want people to be able to relate to that,” Jen said of the track. “Life is full and set with many challenges and people always compare themselves to others. Within this song I want to reach out to others on a personal level and show them through my lyrics and music that being different is a good thing. Do you and be you – recognise that your pace will always be different to others. Be patient with yourself and value your uniqueness.”

As an artist, Jen Ella has been garnering praise for her performances, with the Celtic Music Radio ‘Highly Recommended’ her as an artist to see during the Celtic Connections festival, Glasgow’s annual folk, roots and world music festival. As well as touring Scotland performing, she has also supported Cork band the Frank and Walters and artists within Scotland such as Ivan Drever and Cua.

As an artist, her combination of highly personal, breathtaking lyrics and emotive instrumentation marks her as an artist of high repute. With the likes of Dolores O’Riordan, Eva Cassidy and Stevie Nicks, her music is certain to be both recognisable yet ever-refreshing,

To date, Jen Ella’s music has been receiving plays on Irish radio, with her previous single being featured on RTE Radio One’s featured Playlist. With more music on the way in the coming months, Jen Ella is emerging as an one of the most captivating artists of the moment, and ‘Lipstick Queen’ is just the first step in her journey.

‘Lipstick Queen’ will be released on all major streaming platforms on November 7th.
