New Musical ‘Circle Black’

February 13, 2013

brian_horgan_1560_crop_xproAudiences can enjoy a great musical night out at the Peacock Theatre on Thursday, 28 February at 8pm with the launch of singer-songwriter Brian Horgan’s debut EP album Circle Back.  On the night, Brian will perform the songs from his new EP, as well as new arrangements of classic Harry Chapin and David Gates songs such as Circle and Make it with you. He will be accompanied by top musicians Gerry Peregrine, Paul Stephens, Caitriona Frost and David Wray.

Lyrical in style, Brian Horgan’s music and songs reflect a contemporary take on early 1970s songsters in their mix of pop and folk influences.  His powerful, optimistic ballads and up tempo numbers draw in the listener, in a way that is reminiscent of a male Adele.

Circle Back, which was recorded in Vantry Studio, is co-produced by David McCune and David Wray. It’s re-mastered by Grammy Award winner Bob Katz (who has worked with prestigious artists such as Gram Parsons, Emmy Lou Harris).  Brian Horgan was inspired to write the EP whilst travelling worldwide after the loss of a sibling.

Brian trained under Paul Deegan at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, and currently trains with Deirdre Masterson.  He has been honing his own solo career as a singer-songwriter over the past couple of years, selling out concerts in popular Dublin venues such The Sugar Club, No. 10 Ormond Quay, Bewley’s Café theatre and Cobalt Café.  This concert in the Peacock Theatre marks his debut album release.

People attending the concert will be treated to a special Circle Back cocktail and a wine reception to celebrate the launch of the EP, from 7.30pm.

A press pack and copy of Circle Back will be available to media on the night.

Tickets are available on www.ticketmaster.ie or on the night.
