A Plastic Rose

April 20, 2011
Fresh from headlining the spectacular You Are The Scene event in Belfast’s Mandela Hall, the ever ‘EPIC’ (Irish Times) band ‘A Plastic Rose’ are the name on a lot of people’s lips at the moment. Widely seen as one of the most exciting prospects to emerge from the increasingly fertile Northern Irish music scene, the band have been instrumental in uniting artists and gig-goers alike, knowing that there is great strength in a united front.

Having garnered acclaim upon the UK single release of ‘Oceans’, the band are set to unleash their debut mini-album, ‘The Promise Notes’ and ‘Oceans’ on the consistently rewarding Di Di Mau label. The mini-album shows a totally different side to the band, showcasing their slower, more reflective songs, as well as unleashing the band’s heaviest material so far. The anthemic songs that made the band such a favourite amongst audiences are still there, but there’s a different edge this time; more mature, more developed, more real.

This is the proof that behind the band’s rhetoric and ability to bring people together, there is some serious song writing skills at work. Without directly sounding like anyone else, ‘The Promise Notes’ finds A Plastic Rose calling to mind the aggression of Rival Schools, the dark mystery of R.E.M., the emotional intensity of Biffy Clyro, as well as the fist-pumping choruses of the Foo Fighters.

Track List: 1.Oceans, 2.Two Steps, 3.The Stuttering, 4.Metal Man, 5.Louder, 6.Than Me, 7.Tiger Tail, 8.Last Shining Star
