Acoustra are a four-piece trad/folk/rock band from Limerick who have been writing and performing original material for ten years. They have a new EP out on March 11th 2011 – ‘The way it used to be’ – which tells of the current hardship we all face at the moment. The initial impetus for Acoustra came about in 2001 (for the craic) and the four-piece have never looked back since. They have a wide repertoire and a vast variety of songs ranging from original and covers, which they are known to play at gigs to rock the boat somewhat, but their utter passion resides in original song and tune writing of Trad fused with and deep rooted folk rock.

The Saw Doctors
2nd April – The Olympia Theatre, Dublin

After celebrating a No.1 Album: The Further Adventures of…., and a busy year of festivals (V Festival, Oxegen) with sell out shows across America, the UK and Ireland, The Saw Doctors partnered with Smyths Toys to raise much needed funds for the St. Vincent De Paul Society over the Xmas period and raised over €10,000. Having returned from a recent jaunt in the USA, they play at The Olympia on April 2nd.

After a year of steadfast gigging in some of the country’s most illustrious intimate venues, Young and The Union begin their nationwide tour on Feb 18th (tour dates above). Anyone expecting to see a singer-songwriter soulfully whispering into a microphone should think again. This will be a fevered, rock n' roll countrified affair!

Eleanor McEvoy
3rd March – 19:30 Theatre Royal- Thursday, Theatre Royal Waterford, Ireland
4th March – 19:30 Airfield- Friday, Airfield Dundrum, Ireland

Eleanor's music has evolved and developed over her career and this album is a confident statement.  Her continuing absorption and influence by other forms of music continues to delight and confound any listener who may attempt to pigeon-hole her simply with reference to the winsome ‘Only A Woman’s Heart’ which appeared on the massively popular album “A Woman’s Heart” back in 1992.  That was then, this is now!  “I’d Rather Go Blonde” has been mixed by Ruadhri Cushnan’ who did the breakthrough Mumford & Sons record of this year and has a wilfully contemporary relevance.
Eleanor will also undertake two headline shows of her own in March where she will be playing tracks from throughout her career but also of course from “I’d Rather Go Blonde”.  See www.eleanormcevoy.com for further details.
