When not touring with other aritists, Colm Quearney, Graham Hopkins, Naomi Macleod, Cian Moylan, Justin Carroll & Conor Brady gather together as often as possible to pay homage to the sound of Chicago Blues, 50′s R&B and New Orleans Blues under the guise Square Pegs. Their gigs are always great craic and a good-time is always had!
Their new single ‘Thinking of You’ is a panacea for these times of uncertainty. In the band’s typical upbeat style they capture the universal mood of what we are going through, while still managing to put a smile on your face and a spring in your step!
When sun is shining, bells are ringing
and all the birds are tree-top singing,
I want you to know I’ll be thinking of you!
Toward the end of 2019 the band came together from different parts of the world to record this prophetic song at Camden Recording Studios in Dublin.
“The album, five years in the making, is a marvellously warm rhythm and blues lesson in groove over flash.” Pat Carty, Hot Press Magazine
“The playing is as good as it gets without being showy, while the production is organic, and devoid of studio processing and gimmickry. Springsteen once said that the thing about great songs is that they stay written. These chestnuts are the perfect example: you can never hear them often enough. Excellent stuff.” Colm O’Hare – Hot Press Magazine
