Susie Q has just released the single ‘I Like The Way’.
This is the third release from the Lahinch based singer, songwriter and musician Susie Q’s forthcoming album ‘Into the Sea’. “I wanted to do something to celebrate all the good men in the world, the warriors of the heart” – says Limerick native Susie Q speaking about the launch of ‘I Like The Way’, her high octane new single and feelgood music video.
The track is accompanied by a heartwarming, action packed and fun-filled video featuring a collage of home footage of Susie Q and her husband that was captured along the Wild Atlantic Way and elsewhere in Ireland. ‘No shackles bind us, we are free together’ forms the chorus to ‘I Like The Way’, a high energy and radio friendly track.
“I wrote this song to celebrate my husband Ruairí and our relationship. There are so many great men in the world. My husband Ruairí is one of these, a true warrior of the heart. I know there are big issues of injustice and inequality in the world around gender, and we still have a long way to go but I think it’s also vital to take time to celebrate all the goodness out there, including all the kind and caring men in the world.” says Susie Q.
“There is a paradigm shift taking place worldwide between masculine and feminine energies. The only way through is for us to rise compassionately and powerfully as equals, together.” she adds.
Susie Q, also known as Susan Quirke,. has previously reached no.1 in the iTunes alternative chart category, played at Electric Picnic and Body & Soul, and performed for President Higgins and the Dalai Lama. She has received widespread radio play on the national and international airwaves and featured in HotPress, the Irish Times, and the Sunday Independent. Susie Q is also well known as a meditation teacher and she recently supported the Irish rugby team with their Rugby World Cup preparations.
Recorded at Fiachra Trench’s Meadows Recording Studio in Wicklow, ‘I Like The Way’ features Irish music veterans Colm Quearney on guitar, Graham Hopkins on drums, and Rob Malone on bass. It was co-produced by Susie Q and Colm Quearney, engineered and mixed by Ruth Kennington and mastered by David Odlum.
