The Matthews – hotly-tipped Wicklow band make their headline debut appearance at Whelan’s on Wed June 3rd.
County Wicklow band The Matthews have confirmed their first headline gig when they play Upstairs @ Whelan’s on Wednesday June 3rd.
The band comprises of The Matthews brothers Max (lead guitar), Art (bass) and Jack Matthews (vocals). The group formerly known as Children of the Son made big strides in recent times being named as Newcomers of the Year in Hot Press, before changing their name late in 2014 to The Matthews.
The Whelan’s gig promises to be a fantastic show which will feature a number of additional musicians. Further gigs are planned by the band over the summer months, including a number of festival appearances.
The band have just returned from LA where they worked with renowned producer Warren Haurt (Aerosmith / The Fray). The band are due to release their debut EP later in the year.
