The Radioactive Grandma have been shortlisted by MTV Brand New 2014

RAGAward winning indie band ‘The Radioactive Grandma’ have been shortlisted by MTV Brand New 2014 and are now into the public voting stage.

The trio, based in Cavan, Ireland can add this achievement to their growing list of accolades. The self titled debut album was awarded ‘Best Album’ at Dublin’s, M.R.U Awards (Music review unsigned) in December 2012 & in February the band were nominated for the Hotpress Lift off competition for emerging artists.

A band constantly ‘Under the Radar’  owing to hard work, extensive touring & energetic live gigs, 2013 welcomed the band’s U.K debut. London shows included the famed Hope & Anchor in Islington & Proud Camden to name but a few. A nationwide Irish tour followed with a number of summer festival performances at Knockanstockan, Life, Vantastival & many more. In May T.R.G joined hot american act RDGLDGRN on the Irish leg of their European tour.

Current single ‘Don’t Look Down’ was released to a whirlwind of rave reviews. The accompanying video really pushes the band’s creativity to the forefront. Already noted for their audio production, the original, homemade film was produced with a budget defying €30, a few friends and lot’s of imagination. Presently, the band are again recording under the guise of lead vocalist & producer Johno Leader at his studio ‘The Beast Suite’ which can boast teen sensation The Strypes on it’s client list. Their eagerly anticipated second album is due for release 2014.
