Eleanor McEvoy, is one of the Nation’s most cherished singer songwriters. With her unmistakable voice and that particular way she has with love, lust (lost and found), humour and our world, her music has earned her legions of fans worldwide.
Escaping the norms of her environment through music, youth orchestras & traditional festivals, McEvoy went on to study classical and contemporary music in Trinity College (Dublin) before embarking on her signature songwriting and musical career which seen her initially signed to Geffen where her eponymous album went on to sell 250,000 copies. Her song ‘A Woman’s Heart’ continues as a milestone Favourite. ‘Precious Little’ was a US Billboard hit and ‘Sophie’ became and remains a worldwide focus and comfort to millions of young people with eating disorders. Just recently ‘The Secret of Living’ single reunited her with Woman’s Heart comrades Sharon Shannon, Mary Coughlan, Hermione Hennessy and Gemma Hayes
Her performances are intimate, emotional, uplifting affairs in which she explores soul, love and humour, using her own compositions and interpretations from other songbooks, with her unique voice and beautiful playing.
