Klara McDonnell Releases Animated Music Video for New Single

Klara and Skynem GT, an EDM artist from Peru worked on the remix for latest single, ‘Dusty Glitter’ online during the lockdown.  She decided to release the single to celebrate her cancer journey.

The collaboration result is akin to something you might hear in a cocktail bar – sitting comfortably between the chillout and tropical EDM genres often favoured by the likes of Kygo. It’s new territory for Klara, though she’s not departing her hallmark sound, and is readying completely new material for future release.

The single is out now, alongside an animated music video created by artist, Trea Ivory aka The Doodling Yogi. Klara and Trea came up with the concept together of a colourful character drifting around different scenes, attempting to bring some colour into her grey world. The video ends with her fully embracing her gift and bursting into colour, only then is she able to share her brightness permanently.

Snow Patrol Announce Details of Brand New EP

Snow Patrol have announced details of a brand-new EP. Written and recorded during lockdown, ‘The Fireside Sessions’ will be released on 21st August and is made up of five songs written with the band’s fans during a series of streams on Instagram Live dubbed ‘Saturday Songwriters’. In a nod to this collaboration, ‘The Fireside Sessions’ will be released under the banner of Snow Patrol And The Saturday Songwriters. The EP was produced by Iain Archer. It will be released digitally and on CD and was preceded by the single ‘Reaching Out To You’ on 30th July.

The band are partnering with the Trussell Trust Charity in the UK for the EP and all proceeds from the project will go to the anti-poverty charity. Speaking about how ‘The Fireside Sessions’ came about, frontman Gary Lightbody says, “During lockdown I wrote a song each Saturday on Instagram Live. People from all over the world participated and each week there was 4 or 5 thousand people involved over the course of the hour: The Saturday Songwriters. They would suggest chords and lyrics and I would put them all together and add in a few of my own where appropriate but my unwritten rule was that there would be lyrics from a Saturday Songwriter in each line of the song. We did it for 11 weeks and wrote 12 songs together. It was a lot of fun.”

Completing the EP’s tracklisting alongside ‘Reaching Out To You’ are ‘On The Edge Of All This’, ‘The Curve Of Earth’, ‘Dance With Me’ and ‘Light Years’. The Fireside Sessions follow’s last year’s ‘Reworked’ album, which saw the quintet offer up alternate versions of iconic tracks alongside some deep cuts. ‘Reworked’ reached Number 3 in the UK charts.

Together Animals Announce Second Single

Following on from their self titled debut single Together Animals are releasing their second single ‘Kings And Queens’ on Friday 14th August 2020. The track captures a melancholic state of mind stuck between loss and redemption. Musically reminiscent of bands like Smashing Pumpkins and The Cure, the song feels like a shoegazer until the chorus lashes out against itself with the anthemic tagline “We were Kings & Queens, we were idols.”

Accompanying the release is a majestic animated video. The thought provoking video features a King and Queen leaving their castle behind them as they wander through a dangerous wilderness, plagued by dark forces and lost souls.

Produced by Gavin Glass, their forthcoming debut EP was recorded in Orphan Recording Studios just days before lockdown and then mixed with each band member and the producer isolated from one other. Gavin Glass also makes a musical cameo on each track. A 100% virtual mix, coming together by staying apart.

Formed in 2019 the band only chose their name in 2020 during the recording process in Orphan Recording Studios. The name stems from a humanistic idea that we are social creatures, we need each other, we are all Together Animals.

Digital single available on all platforms on Friday 14th August 2020.
