Pulse College Unveils New BA (Hons) Degree in Music & Audio Technology

As a complement to its highly successful BA (Hons) in Music Production Degree and its current Advanced Diploma in Audio & Music Technology, Pulse College, in collaboration with Griffith College, announced a new bachelor’s degree in Audio & Music Technology (BAAMT). This innovative program will encompass the creative and technical aspects of audio recording and sound design.

The new BAAMT program reflects the current and evolving nature of music technology in the digital age, where the job description of contemporary audio professional includes a wide range of activities including composition, studio recording and engineering, live sound, post production and music programming. The inaugural class will enroll in September 2016 and the course is currently open for Direct Application via Pulse College.

This forward looking curriculum, along with Pulse College’s Dublin city centre location within the historic Windmill Lane Recording Studios, a center for the music recording industry in Ireland, makes Pulse College an ideal place to study music technology.

Pulse College is hosting a Live Online Q&A Series with renowned members of the scoring community for their world class ‘MA in Scoring for Film and Visual Media’ Program.

Join Pulse College online Thursday 10th July for the second in their ‘Masters in Scoring’ Live Q&A Series. In this event hear from Course Director and one of Ireland’s most renowned composers, Derek Gleeson, as he offers an in-depth look into the life of a composer and his role as creator of this unique ‘MA in Scoring’ program, which is taught by award winning composers from the Hollywood scoring community, such as Conrad Pope, Christopher Young and Garry Schyman.

The course begins this September and applications are currently being accepted. There is no fee to submit an application.

This one year Scoring for Film and Visual Media Masters degree is designed for creative composers, musicians and innovators who want to be able to work as a creative artist in the global entertainment industry. Pulse College seeks passionate, focused and motivated students, who are innovative, demonstrate originally and ready to learn, contribute and create.

Run in association with the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama, this Masters course will be delivered in Pulse College and the world-famous Windmill Lane Recording Studios. U2, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and Lady Gaga are among the many legends that have graced these rooms. More relevant to this course, many great film scores have been recorded here too, including The Mask, Mission Impossible and many others by great composers such as Elmer Bernstein.
